Andaman Islands Guide: Port Blair, Havelock and Neil

Andamans is one of India's best beach escapes, but ferry planning and island pacing shape the whole experience.

Do not rush the ferries

Transfers between Port Blair, Havelock and Neil depend on ferry schedules and sea conditions. Keep buffer time around arrival and departure days.

Havelock is the beach highlight

Radhanagar Beach, water activities and quiet resort time make Havelock a favourite. Two nights here are usually better than a hurried one-night stop.

Neil Island suits slower travellers

Neil is calmer and smaller, with a peaceful beach mood. It works well when you want the itinerary to breathe.

Activity planning

Snorkelling, scuba diving, sea walks and boat rides are subject to weather, sea conditions and operator rules. Keep water activities earlier in the trip when possible so there is backup time if schedules change.

How long to stay

Five to six nights are ideal for Port Blair, Havelock and Neil. A shorter trip should focus on Port Blair and Havelock rather than rushing every island.
