The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding was established in 1998 to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of UAE culture and customs. The institution operates a range of cultural experiences, including a variety of Arabic courses, cultural heritage tours, guided tours of mosques, and more. Ever wonder why Emirati women wear black while men wear white? Or just wondering what's going on in the mosque? Or want to enjoy traditional Emirati cuisine? An understanding of local traditions will make your trip to Dubai more profound and meaningful. The Centre for Cultural Understanding is located in the historic Al Fahidi District of BurDubai, housed in a beautiful retro-styled tower house. "Open your door, open your heart" is the motto of this centre, no matter the problem No matter how sensitive, the center welcomes your questions and will answer them. Sign up for a traditional Emirati breakfast, lunch or dinner and join the Heritage District tour at the same time. After the tour, enjoy a selection of traditional dishes in the comfort of Bedouin-style cushions, and the staff will enthusiastically share knowledge about life in the UAE.
