What to expect
Step back in time with this dramatic and inspiring walk through one of the local area’s most striking historic landscapes. Follow the route of an old, disused mining railway and explore an area rich in industrial heritage, as well as stunning natural beauty and breathtaking views.
Witness the mining past, in the form of old buildings, shaft entrances, tunnels, and other assorted mining infrastructure, all set against a dramatic backdrop of towering mountains, deep gorges, and panoramic views.
Walk through olive, almond, citrus, and pomegranate groves, and enjoy a cornucopia of wild flora and, with a bit of luck, some of the local fauna too.
Pass through a charming traditional, white, Andalusian village, a picturesque fountain, and view the haunting ruins of an old abandoned Moorish mosque.
The route then takes us back to our transport, having completed the 8-kilometre circular walk.

The route includes a couple steepish ascents with a vertical ascent of about 200m
A fairly healthy level of fitness is required
We pass through an unlit 250m tunnel, so a (mobile phone) torch is recommended
