What to expect
Day 1: Barcelona, Penedès, and Priorat
Departure from Barcelona to Penedès, one of the great wine regions of Catalonia and a benchmark for its historic relationship with Cava. During the day, there will be a visit to a winery, where you'll learn about the production process, the work in the vineyard, and the tradition that has made this area one of the driving forces behind Catalan wine. The experience will be rounded off with a cava tasting.
After lunch, continue to Priorat, one of the most prestigious denominations in Spain, known for its steep slopes, its hillside vineyards, and the intense character of its wines. Accommodation in the Priorat area.
Day 2: Priorat, Terra Alta, and Rioja
The day will begin in Priorat with a visit to a winery located in a beautiful setting, where the landscape and mountain viticulture explain the uniqueness of this designation. This stop will give you a better understanding of the value of the territory, the difficulty of working on the slopes, and the personality of wines marked by licorella.
Afterwards, continue on to Terra Alta, another very interesting wine region in Catalonia. There will be another visit there to discover different styles of Catalan wine. After the visits, departure by road to Rioja. Accommodation in La Rioja.
Day 3: La Rioja and Aranda del Duero
The third day will be dedicated to La Rioja, one of the most renowned wine regions in Spain. During the day, there will be visits to two wineries, which will allow you to discover different approaches within the same designation: from traditional projects to more contemporary proposals.
In addition to the oenological interest, this stage allows you to explore an iconic area where vineyards, historic villages, and wineries are part of the cultural landscape of Spanish wine. Day 4: Ribera del Duero and Madrid
The last day will take place in Ribera del Duero, a designation recognized for the quality, structure, and prestige of its wines. There will be visits to two wineries, completing the tour with a region that perfectly represents the strength of contemporary Spanish wine.
This final stage will allow you to compare territories, production styles, and ways of understanding the vineyard after having traveled through several of the country's most important wine regions. After the visits and the last tasting, departure to Madrid, where the route will end.
