What to expect
Enjoy a day in the Ribera del Duero wine region, where cutting-edge technology and architecture coexist with century-old wineries, run by families who have passed on the winemaking tradition from generation to generation. On this journey, we take you to try the wines that have made the Ribera del Duero world-renowned and to learn about its old and new wine-making techniques, as part of the great contrasts that make this wine region unique.
The Ribera del Duero wine region it’s a 2-hour drive from Madrid city center. You can enjoy the diverse landscapes while your guide shares details and anecdotes about the region. The Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero is one of the most renowned in Spain, fed by the famous Duero River, that flows all the way until Portugal, where it also plays a leading role in the production of Portuguese wine.
We select local and authentic wineries from the Ribera del Duero that portray the highest quality standards of the region. We also try these three wineries to complement each other:
- A boutique winery with avant-garde architecture, where every detail is meticulously taken care for to ensure optimal conditions for the production of wines of exceptional quality. These wines have quickly gained national and international recognition. More recently, in 2025, 6 of its wines were rated +95 points on the Tim Atkin scale, and one of its founders awarded "Winemaker of the Year".
- Spaces that connect with vineyards, where modern structures and architecture blend seamlessly with nature and its surrondings. Witness the intersection of functionality, nature, and history. The second winery represents a different approach to wine production. Compare and enjoy the diversity!
Your guide will accompany you every step of the way, assisting you and the winemakers, and providing any additional information. You will enjoy a complete tour of the facilities of each winery to understand their processes and try several of their wines with local appetizers.
After visiting the first two wineries, there will be free time (at least 1 hour) to grab a bite or have lunch in the area (at own expense). Your guide will provide recommendations. There will be different options of regional Castilian food, ranging from tapas, a light lunch, or a full 3-course lunch (approximate budget for a tapas lunch is €12-15, for a full 3-course meal is €30).
- Afterwards, we will visit the third winery for another tasting (last, but not at all least). In this winery, the winemaking tradition has been passed down for 400 years. It was founded before the denomination of origen existed, being one of its forerunners. Here we'll visit a medieval underground cellar from the 16th century, approximately 7 km long and excavated in rock to a depth of about 13 meters. These historic tunnels, still in use, offer a fascinating glimpse into the rich heritage of the Ribera del Duero region.
We are back in Madrid at around 20:00h. Are you going to miss this experience?
