Meet your guides and their large male packgoats at the Coll de Rates mountain pass before sunrise. As dawn begins to colour the sky, set off on a guided trek through the mountains at a purposeful but comfortable pace, accompanied by a free-roaming herd of friendly packgoats.
This immersive early-morning experience follows wide mountain tracks and ancient shepherd paths, leading to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the region. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views across the valleys, mountains and distant Mediterranean coastline while learning about the goats, local wildlife and traditional mountain life.
As the first rays of sunlight reach the peaks, arrive at a stunning viewpoint high above the Costa Blanca. Here you can relax with freshly brewed coffee, tea and croissants while watching the sunrise over the mountains. On some mornings, low cloud fills the valleys below, creating the unforgettable sensation of standing above a sea of clouds.
Unlike a traditional hiking tour, this experience allows you to travel alongside a working herd of packgoats. The goats are free to browse, explore and interact naturally with their surroundings, creating a peaceful and authentic connection to the landscape.
After breakfast, guests may return with the guides and goats or choose to remain at the viewpoint for longer before making their own way back to the car park.

This is a 3-hour moderate mountain walk with a steady uphill ascent.
The activity starts before sunrise. Please arrive on time at the meeting point.
Sturdy walking shoes and water are essential.
A light jacket or warm layer is recommended, as mountain mornings can be cool before sunrise.
The route follows a wide mountain road with vehicle access throughout.
