What to expect
Explore the UNESCO-listed town of San Gimignano with about two hours of free time to wander its medieval streets, admire its towers, and enjoy local specialties. Continue through the rolling Chianti hills to a cozy winery for a guided tasting of three fine wines and a three-course “zero-food-miles” lunch, ending with cantucci. Next, discover Siena on a guided walking tour (if option selected) through its charming medieval streets, Piazza del Campo, and the magnificent 12th-century Cathedral (interior visit if option selected), followed by free time to soak up the city’s unique atmosphere. In season, visit the walled hamlet of Monteriggioni for independent exploration. The order of visits may vary. Perfect for travelers seeking a seamless experience of San Gimignano, Siena, and Chianti with wine tasting, local food, and expert guiding.
From November to March, Monteriggioni is not included and the return to Florence is approximately 30 minutes earlier.
