What to expect
The National Art Museum of Catalonia is one of the most important art museums in Barcelona. It is a magnificent building that combines the essence of Roman art and Gothic art in Catalonia. The museum is divided into the Roman art exhibition area and the Gothic art exhibition area. The former collects frescoes, wood carvings and other works found in the Pyrenees Mountains. It is the largest collection of Roman art in Europe. The religious picture scroll allows visitors to observe the subtle differences between the two art schools in fine detail. The photography area on the upper floor of the museum also collects the works of outstanding photographers who have emerged in Catalonia since the mid-19th century, and the adjacent exhibition hall contains a collection of coins and banknotes from the Roman era. Great fun.
