△ The main part of the Prado Museum is the Palacio de Villanueva (Palacio de Villanueva), built in 1785, which is a model of neoclassical architecture. The facade is supported by Greek-style white columns, with a bronze statue of Velazquez holding a pen and meditating, facing the Prado Avenue.

△ The Prado Museum has three floors. If time is limited, you can go up to the first floor to appreciate the key paintings, and then go downstairs to the ground floor. In addition, decorative arts and tableware are displayed on the second floor of the attic and basement.

• The guided tour covers selected highlights — the full museum requires additional independent exploration time
• Large bags must be stored in the cloakroom before entering the galleries
• Photography is not permitted anywhere inside the Prado Museum — strictly enforced
• The museum is very large; wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for significant walking
• The Prado can be extremely busy; the skip-the-line ticket does not guarantee immediate entry during peak periods
