What to expect

Tablao "El Cardenal" bar has a rich history of over 37 years and is a popular spot for Cordoba flamenco. With its impeccable performance, it won the 2008 Tourism Product Award from the Cordoba Tourism Board.

Little is known about the early days of Tablao Flamenco "El Cardenal," but it is remembered that in 1987, under the shelter of the now-vanished Restaurant El Cardenal, a group of friends including Rafael Rodríguez Fernández "Merenque" and Concha Calero's company, driven by their passion for flamenco, began hosting flamenco performances in the basement of Calle Cardenal Herrero near the Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral. These performances lasted approximately two years.

Currently, the ensemble boasts over 35 years of experience, backed by the steadfast commitment of a business group from Cordoba. Under the artistic direction of the renowned dance duo "Antonio Alcazar and Victoria Palacios," accompanied by award-winning guitarist "Alberto Lucena," they are making their way to the Tablao dance hall at 2 Buen Pastor Street. Their performances honor both the steps and dances of flamenco while paying homage to the Mosque-Cathedral, which to this day remains present under the name El Tablao Flamenco "El Cardenal."
