What to expect
The Gibralfaro Castle was built in the fourteenth century to accommodate the army to protect the castle of Malaga. Today it is one of the most popular places of interest in Malaga. Standing on its ramparts, you can see a beautiful and sultry panorama of Malaga, and you can also enter its cultural center to learn about its history. It takes its name from the lighthouse on the top floor (Jabal-Faruk, Hill of Lighthouses). Although it was the Phoenicians and Romans who started to establish settlements here, in 1340 the Nasr king YusufI (Yusuf I) turned the place into a castle.
