What to expect
The Church of San Tomé is located in the historic center of Toledo, the ancient capital of central Spain, dedicated to San Tomé. After King Alfonso VII of Castile conquered the city, he converted an 11th-century mosque into a Catholic church, and the 12th century has been recorded. The original mosque building has not undergone major alterations. However, in the early 14th century, the original mosque building was destroyed, so it was completely rebuilt. In the apse there is El Greco's famous painting "The Funeral of the Count of Orgas".
