What to expect
The Royal Chapel is an exquisite building completed before the Cathedral of Granada in the first half of the 16th century. Now it and the Cathedral of Granada form a more popular cultural scenic spot in the city center. According to Queen Isabel's last words, the chapel houses the coffins of two Catholic popes. The most worth seeing place is the golden iron fence bedroom (Mausoleo) in the center of the chapel. The two pairs of marble pedestal-shaped tombstones standing side by side are clearly visible. The family crest, saints, angels and lions are carved and decorated, which is magnificent. In the underground coffin room, there is also an eye-catching small coffin, nestled beside the four simple coffins, which is the coffin of Prince Miguel, the grandson of Isabel who died at an early age.
