What to expect
This full-day adrenaline-fuelled tour combines a rafting trip down the Shotover River with a jet boat ride and a helicopter tour.After the jet boat ride, walk 200 meters to Cavells Rafting Base and take a helicopter into Skippers Canyon for a tour. Once at Deep Creek, all kayakers will receive training and then meet up with the river guides and paddling partners. Kayakers will have plenty of time to practice paddling skills in the upper reaches of the Shotover River before entering the whitewater area in the lower canyon. After 1.5-2 hours of paddling, kayakers will enter a dark area and then rush into a small waterfall to complete the adventure.After the rafting, it's a short walk back to the Cavells Rafting Base, where you can take a hot shower and steam sauna before returning to Queenstown to wash away the fatigue of the journey.
