What to expect

Königssee is a deep lake in Germany, located 5 kilometers south of Berchtesgaden, a small town on the border between Germany and Austria. Surrounded by mountains, this narrow and beautiful lake is slender and slender, resembling a Nordic fjord. Königssee is famous for its turquoise and crystal-clear water, and it is considered the cleanest and most beautiful lake in Germany. The best time to travel to Kings Lake in summer is summer. The mountains on both sides of the lake are towering, full of green trees, and a paradise-like scenery. In winter, due to the weather conditions, many beautiful scenery cannot be seen, but if it encounters snow, it will also have a different flavor under the silver wrap. The best way to visit Kings Lake by boat is to take a cruise. Due to the strict protection of water quality, the boats operating here are all electric or hand-drawn. Starting from the Königssee Seelände pier, the Kings Lake cruise will make three stops, namely Kessel, St.Bartholomä and the end point of Salet. It is recommended to sit on the right side of the boat for the outgoing journey and the left side for the return journey, so that you can see a good view. Disembark at the second stop, St. Bartholomä, to visit the beautiful red-roofed church - St. Bartholomew Chapel. Disembark at the terminal and take a short walk to enjoy the Obersee and Röthbach waterfalls. From the top of Jena Peak overlooking King Lake, Jennerbahn (Jennerbahn) is located on the east side of King Lake. From the top, you can overlook the whole King Lake and have a panoramic view of Berchtesgaden Town and the lakes and mountains of the Alps in the distance. The Jena Peak Cable Car Station is not far from the entrance to the King Lake. You can easily climb to the top by cable car. You can also choose to descend halfway down the middle of the mountain and climb the mountain on foot.
