The visitor experience begins with one of the world's fastest elevators, whisking guests from the 5th floor to the 89th-floor Indoor Observatory in just 37 seconds at a speed of 1,010 meters per minute. From there, guests can explore the enclosed 89th-floor deck with floor-to-ceiling glass walls, and — when conditions allow — step out onto the open-air 91st-floor Outdoor Observatory at 440 meters for a breezier, unfiltered view of the city. Engineering enthusiasts can also view the building's massive Tuned Mass Damper, the world's largest, which helps stabilize the tower against high winds and earthquakes. A separate "Skyline 460" add-on ticket grants limited-time access to the 101st-floor open-air platform for those wanting to go even higher.

An "Infinite Sky" mirrored installation adds a striking photo opportunity along the visitor path, using reflection and rotation effects to create a kaleidoscope-like visual. Dining options near the observatory cater to a range of tastes, including Taiwanese, Western, vegetarian, and Halal choices.

The main area of Taipei 101 Observatory is located on the 89th floor, featuring 360-degree panoramic glass walls that offer views of Taipei city and surrounding mountain landscapes. The occasionally open 91st-floor outdoor observatory provides an open-air viewing experience at an altitude of 440 meters. Visitors can take ultra-high-speed elevators that reach the 89th floor from the 5th floor in just 37 seconds. The observatory also has a close-up display area where visitors can observe the operational principles of the damper system.
