The Château de Chantilly is one of the gems of French cultural heritage, where the Duke of Aumale collected countless masterpieces and precious manuscripts. This castle has weathered centuries and still stands majestically. In 1886, the Duke of Aumale generously donated the Château de Chantilly to the Institut de France. Today, it offers visitors a chance to step into the heart of a prince's former residence and embark on a fascinating time capsule.
The castle architecture blends medieval simplicity, Renaissance grandeur, and the delicate elements of Baroque and Rococo styles, featuring exquisite interior and exterior decorations. The small castle retains medieval-style towers and defensive elements, while the grand castle showcases the opulence of 19th-century Renaissance and Rococo influences.
Designed by the renowned landscape architect André Le Nôtre, this park features a harmonious blend of French and English styles. Its geometrically symmetrical layout, statues, fountains, lakes, and lawns create a fairy-tale-like wonderland.
