What to expect
Château de Castelnau-Bretenoux is a magnificent medieval castle in the Lot department in southwestern France. It was built in the 12th century and was once an important military fortress of the Castelnau family.
Its unique red sandstone building complex, with a hexagonal main tower as its core, coupled with towering defensive walls and a well-preserved Renaissance-style internal courtyard, showcases the perfect fusion of medieval military and aristocratic life.
The castle is located on the heights of the Dordogne Valley, with a 360-degree view of the magnificent vineyard landscape.
