What to expect
The building where the museum is located is a Gothic monastery with several pygmy hazel trees. The museum mainly exhibits medieval stone carvings, Renaissance prints, and some introductions to artists in the Upper Rhine region in the 15th century. However, what is more famous here is the "Isenheim Altarpiece" created by the German Renaissance painter Grünewald, which has a high status in the history of Western art.
