What to expect
Royal Monastery of Brou This luxurious mausoleum is famous for its architecture, sculptures, flowery windows and colorful glazed roofs. Famous for its stories of love and death, this flame Gothic mausoleum will captivate you with its vividness and excellent architecture, with stones decorating the building like lace. You will admire the colorful roof, the prayer mat, the altar backsplash, the floral windows, and the exquisite mausoleum of Marguerite d'Autriche of Austria and her husband. The gallery where the Crucifix is located offers a panoramic view of the altar and the royal tombs. From the cloister, you can reach the former kitchen and watch a movie about the monastère royal de Brou and its gallery, which houses a collection of French, Flemish and Italian paintings, sculptures and porcelain. A gallery with 18th-century objects gives access to the upper gallery of the third cloister. The Abbey also regularly organizes temporary exhibitions and art festivals.
