What to expect

Yuanjia Village is located in the key scenic Attraction of Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie. It is the only private building within the scope of Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. The village of the local landlord has been completely preserved and has become a major tourist attraction. It also retains the architectural features of the Tujia people. The corners of the eaves fly outwards obliquely, and strings of corn and peppers are hung under the eaves. The Tujia people are hospitable and like to entertain guests with homemade wine. They must sing and toast before drinking. After A Mei finished her toast, each tourist tasted a glass. The alcohol content was not high, it seemed to be only a few degrees, not difficult to drink, and there was no feeling... The three major characteristics of the Tujia people have been heard before, "driving corpses, crying for marriage, and poisoning", which are still unsolved mysteries. Xilankapu, a major feature of the Tujia people, is woven by married women with various colored threads, with exquisite craftsmanship and a long time. Yuanjia Village inherits the characteristics of Tujia architecture. The eaves of the village gate are tilted upwards, with a plaque of "Yuanjia Village" in the middle, and big red lanterns on both sides. The village gate is hung with golden old corn. As soon as we arrived, people from the village played suona and drums, which was very lively. After entering the door, a tiger lay in front, and a child and a giant ape sat next to it. This is the totem of the Tujia people. They have believed since ancient times that "tigers are fathers and apes are mothers". The village displays some of the reproduction history, living habits, and items used by the Tujia people. People who have been to Yuanjiajie know that there are many rainy and foggy days on the mountain. With the village, tourists will not regret not being able to see the mountain, because there is such a good place on the mountain.
