The Piccolomini Palace is located in Pienza's central Pienza Square, next to the Pienza Cathedral. The building was designed in the second half of the fifteenth century as part of the project to rebuild Pienza as an ideal city (cittàideale). The palace is one of the early examples of Renaissance architecture.
