About this experience
A full day that starts on the water and finishes in the air. Boats leave early from Oahu's leeward coast, heading for the calm bays where resident spinner dolphin pods come in to rest after a night of hunting offshore — sometimes dozens at a time, moving in loose formation and leaping clear of the surface.
The boat then anchors over reef for snorkelling, in water that is usually clear and warm, with green sea turtles and reef fish among the coral. Gear, flotation and crew supervision are all provided, and the west side of the island is noticeably quieter than the Waikiki snorkel sites.
The afternoon shifts inland to a zipline course, where you are harnessed and sent out along cables strung high over valley and ridge terrain. It is a long day with an early start, and by the end you have covered both sides of what Oahu does best.
