What to expect
Mikimoto Pearl Island is located in the bay of Toba City, Mie Prefecture, Japan, and is the hometown of Mikimoto Pearl. In 1893, Mikimoto Kokichi successfully cultivated pearls on this small island, which became one of the inventions that Japan is proud of in the world. Mikimoto Pearl Island is a kingdom about pearls. From the moment you cross the Pearl Bridge, it shows a beautiful picture of pearls and those who love pearls. From the Pearl Museum to the Mikimoto Kokichi Memorial Hall to shops selling all kinds of pearl accessories, Mikimoto Pearl Island is an eye-opener for pearl lovers. From the large collection of Pearl Museum, visitors can learn about the formation principle of pearls, the introduction of pearl cultivation, antique treasures and arts and crafts.
