What to expect
The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum is located on top of a bombed-down church. There is only one wall left in the church. To this day, you can still see a clock that was destroyed and deformed by the shock wave hanging on the wall, and the hour hand stopped at 11:02. The original intention of the Atomic Bomb Museum is very simple, in order not to forget the sorrows of the past, in order to inspire the fighting spirit to move forward. The exhibition hall systematically introduces the recent development of Nagasaki after it was destroyed by the atomic bomb to the present. From this, you can understand the great destruction of the war and the strong survival spirit of Nagasaki people from grief. It is mainly divided into two exhibition areas. One is to display all the surviving objects, ranging from a grain of carbonized rice to a bicycle that is squeezed and crooked. All of their states are proofs to witness the tragedy. Another pavilion shows the far-reaching influence of the late stage of the atomic bombing. The photos on display include people who have suffered lesions after being irradiated. These vivid cases all reveal the cruelty of the war. Check it out.
