What to expect

Your adventure begins in the early morning at the Toyosu Fish Market, where you’ll witness the famous tuna auction in action. From the observation deck, watch skilled buyers and traders compete for the finest catches of the day, using traditional hand signals and years of expertise to make lightning-fast bids. Your guide will explain the fascinating process of how tuna are inspected, graded, and sold, giving you a deeper appreciation for Japan’s seafood culture. After the auction, take a stroll around the market area to explore seafood stalls and local shops. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy a fresh sushi breakfast at one of Toyosu’s renowned restaurants (optional, at your own expense), ending your early-morning experience on a truly authentic Tokyo note.

Things to note

• Auction time: Around 5:30 AM – 6:30 AM. Meeting time will be advised upon booking.
• Limited access: Auction viewing spots are subject to Toyosu Market’s daily visitor capacity.
• Participants must follow market staff instructions at all times.
• No flash photography or loud noises during the auction.
• Tour operates rain or shine.
• Children under 6 years old may not be permitted in the auction viewing area for safety reasons.
• Walking tour: Expect moderate walking; comfortable shoes recommended.

• In case of special weather conditions, we will decide whether to cancel the trip 1 day before departure
• Open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Closed on Wednesday, Sunday and Japanese holidays)
• From July to August, the number of large tuna decreases by 40%, but you can enjoy sea urchin and botan shrimp!
• Temporary non-auction days: Equipment maintenance or special auction days, etc. will be announced on the official website 3 days in advance
• Traffic is congested during holidays and no refund can be made due to traffic jams. Please be careful when purchasing.
• The day tour itinerary does not include personal travel and accident Insurance. Please purchase these if required.
