What to expect

Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, located in Taibao City, Chiayi, features a streamlined architectural design inspired by traditional ink paintings.

Covering approximately 70 hectares in total, the area includes a 20-hectare museum zone and 50-hectare park. The museum building was designed by architect Kris Yao.

Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum primarily features exhibits borrowed from the three main collections of the Northern Branch - paintings and calligraphy, artifacts, and documents - to create large-scale thematic exhibitions with both quality and quantity.
