What to expect

▲ The Pier2 Art Center: Originally a warehouse at Kaohsiung Port built in 1973, The Pier2 Art Center has witnessed the port's prosperity, decline, revival, and transformation alongside industrial changes. Named after its location at Kaohsiung Port's No. 2 Pier ("Pier 2" in Chinese), the name carries a sense of heritage. It has gradually become one of Taiwan's most successful cultural and creative hubs, sparking a new southern art movement in Kaohsiung and driving urban transformation. Once a storage space for port goods, it has now been reinvented as a creative paradise for artists, brimming with design and innovative energy—becoming a popular waterfront light rail destination in Kaohsiung.

▲ Cijin Island: Encounter Cijin, starting with "Wind Harvest, Bountiful Harvest." A vibrant artistic island with a rich blend of cultural and natural landscapes, offering many attractions worth exploring, where art and daily life coexist in harmony.

▲ Love River: As one of Kaohsiung's main rivers, the Love River is like the city's mother river. The downstream riverbanks have been renovated into a riverside park, making it a great place for leisurely walks in the urban area. The east and west banks each have their own unique charm, exuding the alluring aroma of coffee and alternating rhythms of music, allowing visitors to fully relax amidst the waterfront leisure atmosphere of this harbor city.

▲ The Dome of Light at Formosa Boulevard Station: The public art installation "The Dome of Light" inside the station was completed over four and a half years by Italian artist Narcissus Quagliata. This glass artwork combines glass, painting, and lighting to represent the birth, growth, glory, and destruction of the universe. It was ranked as the second most beautiful metro station in the world by the United States travel website "BootsnAll."

▲ Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (Lotus Pond): A scenic spot with profound Eastern symbolism, the iconic Dragon and Tiger Pagodas by the Lotus Pond showcase the awe-inspiring essence of Eastern religious culture. Specially recommended by CNN in the United States, it stands as one of Kaohsiung's traditional religious attractions.

▲ 85 Sky Tower: This is the highest observation deck in southern Taiwan and one of Kaohsiung's landmark views. When the elevator reaches 120 meters, the lights begin to dim, revealing a sky full of stars as if entering a dazzling galaxy. With the changing starlight inside the elevator, you'll arrive at the 75th floor—the highest observation deck in southern Taiwan—overlooking Kaohsiung's magnificent sea and city views. At the 85 Sky Tower, you'll discover the radiant beauty of this harbor city.

▲ Holy Rosary Cathedral Minor Basilica: This is the cathedral of Taiwan. Located near the Love River, it was the first church established after the Catholic Church resumed its mission in Taiwan, and also the birthplace of the modern Catholic Church in Taiwan. For over a century, it has been a spiritual pillar for countless people in southern Taiwan. Today, it serves as the cathedral of the Kaohsiung Diocese and is one of the three major cathedrals in Asia.
