What to expect

Jiufen Old Street is located at Jishan Street, Shuqi Road, and Qingjing Road. The buildings with strong traditional style are built on the mountain, with rows of old houses, narrow streets and steep stone steps, high and low. The winding Jiufen Old Street retains the ancient lifestyle with a strong ancient charm. The red lanterns, narrow alleys, bluestone steps and mottled wooden buildings have provided inspiration for many film and television works. The old street also became famous again because of "A City of Sadness" and "Spirited Away". The long sea view of the North Coast is in the shape of a "Phoenix". It is a long stone staircase with many viewing teahouses and coffee shops. A good choice for accommodation in Jiufen. The cinema entrance and ticket office, movie information, six wooden chairs, old movie materials, posters, and projectors are like stepping back in time. Old Street Food The snacks in Jiufen Old Street are dazzling. We recommend Grandma’s Taro Balls. The store is located at 143 Kishan Street. Sweet soup or smoothie topped with various red beans and peanuts. The mixed taro balls are sweet, soft, chewy and refreshing. Another Auntie’s Taro Ball Shop, passing through the long and narrow shop, you can see a clear view of the sea. It is very pleasant to eat handmade taro balls and sweet potatoes while watching the sea. In addition, there are red glutinous meatballs, peanut roll ice cream, nursing long braised food, Jiufen tofu pudding, Jiudaokou beef noodles and other delicacies to whet your appetite and come and taste them. Old Street B&B avoids the hustle and bustle of the crowd. Staying one night in Jiufen is a good choice. Many homestays are built along the slopes, high and deep.
