What to expect

Formerly known as "Sheliao Island"; it is an island located in Zhongzheng District, northeast of Keelung Port. It is the first place in northern Taiwan where Westerners set foot, and it is also the first place where Han Chinese settled in Keelung. Due to long-term weathering erosion and wave impact, unique geological landforms such as mushroom-shaped rocks, tofu rocks, and sea erosion platforms have formed on the coast, like a sculpture art gallery. The ten rocks with special shapes are Pig Head Rock, Sphinx Rock, Seal Rock, Mudskipper Rock, Sea Hare Rock, as well as Diamond Rock, Pharaoh Rock, Crocodile Tears Rock, Black Kite Rock and Leopard Rock located in the secret Alabao Bay.

Nine recommended scenic spots | Mountain trail | The total length is about 400 meters, with a panoramic view along the heights of Heping Island Geopark. You can see special scenes such as Keelung Island, sea views and sea thresholds at the [Dengyu Pavilion].

|Sea Erosion Platform|The vast sea erosion platform is the source of seaweed in winter. Groups of local village women often come here to collect natural sea vegetables, forming a unique cultural landscape on the island.

|Liuxia Beach|The soft and clean beach is not only a place for children to play in the sand and build sand castles, but it is also a great place for sunbathing.

|Blue Sea Pool|In the clear blue sea pool, there are often tropical fish, swimming crabs and other marine creatures swimming around you. Safety maintenance personnel are there to protect your safety all year round.

| Water Pool | A facility where children can get close to the marine ecology. There are small fish swimming in the water, and parents and children can observe marine life here with peace of mind. |Angel's Trail to the Sea|Looking forward on the trail, it seems like a passage leading to the blue sea. It is a scenic spot for taking photos and checking in. There is also a slide that children love that leads directly to Liuxia Beach.

|Monument to the Ryukyu Fishermen|In 1905, the Ryukyu people gathered here to form a settlement and taught the ancestors of Keelung fishing and shipbuilding techniques. They had a very good relationship with the residents of Heping Island. Japan presented this monument to express the friendship between the two sides. |Radar Station Landscape Restaurant|Located at the highest point of the park, the former military facility was converted into a landscape restaurant with an outdoor plaza with a 270-degree sea view and indoor seating, providing beautiful views and delicious food.
