What to expect

TAIPEI 101 is located in the prime area of Taipei. This project was jointly planned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation, a consortium of fourteen enterprises, along with professional teams, and meticulously designed by master architect C.Y. Lee. It transcends the concept of a single monolithic structure by using the auspicious number "8" (homophone for "prosperity" in Chinese) as the design unit. Every eight floors form a structural module, interconnected and stacked layer by layer to construct the whole. The exterior creates a rhythmic aesthetic beauty, pioneering a new international skyscraper style.

The building's design resembles resilient bamboo rising steadily, symbolizing the enduring significance of traditional architecture.

Endless Skyline: Through the unique mirror principle, experience the visual sensation of the heavens and earth within reach yet infinitely extended via layered reflections between the skylight and mirrored floor, immersing visitors in a kaleidoscopic world. Friendly reminder:Female tourists wearing short skirts, please be aware of the reflection issues on the mirrored floor.

Wind damper ball: The full official name of Taipei 101's wind damper ball is Tuned Mass Damper (TMD), a custom-designed passive damping system for this building. Located at the center of floors 87–92, its primary purpose is to reduce the building's sway during strong winds and minimize discomfort for occupants. Unlike traditional hidden damping systems, this wind damper ball uniquely combines functionality with aesthetic design, allowing visitors to observe its operation from the observation deck.

Ultra-high-speed elevators: Taipei 101 Observatory is equipped with two ultra-high-speed elevators that can ascend at a speed of 1,010 meters per min. It takes only 37 sec to travel from the 5th floor to the 89th-floor observatory. These elevators also feature constant-pressure cabin equipment, dampers, and a high-temperature-resistant ceramic braking system, integrating cutting-edge technology into these intelligent high-speed elevators.

Experience a dreamy immersive journey at the 89th-floor indoor observation deck, where dazzling night lights reflect off glass installations. Marvel at the million-dollar night view and capture timeless moments at the exclusive photo windows!

Secret garden in the clouds: A stunning photo spot where romantic scenes meet high-altitude city views, creating a beautiful picture

The multi-section design naturally mitigates wind field effects caused by high-rise buildings on ground level. Through architectural planning that separates green planting areas, it ensures pedestrian safety and comfort.

Rainbow Neon Zone: A must-visit photo spot offering stunning night views from above, beautifully complemented by neon decorations!
