About this experience

• During this 3-hour tour (start every day at 15:30 hrs) you’ll visit the Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) with an English speaking tour guide.
• Meeting point is at the bus stop opposite the Elefin Café, just south of Wat Pho.
• From the meeting point we walk to nearby Wat Pho, or Wat Phra Chetuphon, as it is generally known to the Thai people.
• Wat Pho is mainly famous for the huge Reclining Buddha statue it houses. At 20 acres large, it is the largest temple in Bangkok, and technically the oldest too, as it was built around 200 years before Bangkok became Thailand's capital.
• It holds the dual honors of having both Thailand's largest reclining Buddha image and the most number of Buddha images in Thailand.
• The highly impressive reclining Buddha is 46 meters long and 15 meters high, and illustrates the passing of the Buddha into nirvana. The large grounds of Wat Pho contain more than 1000 Buddha images in total, most from the ruins of the former capitals Ayutthaya and Sukhothai.
• We then walk to the Tha Tien pier where we'll take a ferry to the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya river. Here you'll find one of the most outstanding temples of Thailand, named after the Indian god of Dawn Aruna: Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).
• The imposing prang (spire) of Wat Arun is one of Bangkok's world-famous landmarks. It is over 70 meters high and represents Mount Meru, home of the gods. The corners are surrounded by four smaller satellite prangs. The prangs are beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of coloured glass and Chinese porcelain which had previously been used as ballast by boats coming to Bangkok from China.

• For Grand Palace, the temples in Bangkok and Bang Pa-In in Ayutthaya a dress code applies to visitors. Guests must dress appropriately. Shoulders and ankles need to be covered. No shorts, flip-flops, sandals, skinny jeans or revealing tops, otherwise people won't be allowed in.
• Guests are required to meet with our tour guide at the designated meeting point for all tours, unless mentioned otherwise. For join tours we can wait not more than 15 minutes after set meeting time
• Turning up late to the starting point of the tour for whatever reason is considered a late cancellation and will result in a loss of all payments made.
• Please inform customers that they bring copy of passport on day of the tour. We need passport details for insurance purposes
• All tours include licensed English speaking tour guide.
• Bangkok's traffic is notorious. Since our tours are on a group basis, we would like to emphasize that you should arrive at the meeting point on time. If you cannot make it in time, please inform us before start of the tour. If possible, we will always do our best to reschedule you to the first available day/start time, but a change fee will apply.
• The guide can only wait for a MAXIMUM of 10 minutes after the set meeting time. After the 10 minutes grace period, the guide will start with the tour.
• Maximum capacity for the tour is 30 pax.
• Tickets are free cancellation ( if you cancel at least 48 hours before the activity starts).
• No show will be charged 100%
