What to expect
Thomas Schütte
Exhibition period: : 2024-09-29 ~ 2025-01-17
- This retrospective of German contemporary artist Thomas Schütte will provide a holistic survey of his career from 1975 to the present, including Schütte’s sculptures, drawings, prints, and experiments in architecture. Taking aesthetics, form, and history as its focus, the exhibition aims to provide a deeper understanding of the artist’s practice and introduce new audiences to one of the most significant sculptors working today. Presented solely at MoMA, this will be the first museum survey of Schütte’s work in the United States in over 20 years and will feature a selection of rarely seen works.
Life Dances On: Robert Frank in Dialogue
Exhibition period: : 2024-09-15 ~ 2025-01-10
- This exhibition will provide new insights into the interdisciplinary and lesser-known aspects of photographer and filmmaker Robert Frank’s expansive career, delving into the six decades that followed Frank’s landmark photobook The Americans (1958) until his death in 2019. Life Dances On will explore Frank’s artistic and personal dialogues with other artists and with his communities. The exhibition will feature more than 200 objects, including photographs, films, books, and archival materials, drawn from MoMA’s extensive collection alongside significant loans
