What to expect
The Tsugaru Domain Nebuta Village Tsugaru area refers to the area in the western part of Aomori Prefecture. Currently, the main cities are Hirosaki City and Aomori City. Aomori's "Nebuta Festival", Sendai's "Tanabata Festival", and Akita's "Hanto Festival" are known as the three major summer festivals in the Northeast. Tsugaru Domain Nebuta Village is a tourist facility that simulates the Hirosaki Nebuta Festival. The lanterns displayed at Tsugaru Domain Nebuta Village are mainly fan-shaped lanterns. The themes of the lanterns are mainly based on legends of gods and Buddhas, heroes, and historical stories such as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the Water Margin. The painting style is very delicate and vivid, which is shocking. The Tsugaru Fan Nebuta Village is divided into two areas. The first area is the visit and experience area. There are various tours and experiences of Tsugaru traditional crafts. Traditional handicraft courses can be experienced at your own expense. You need to purchase the Tsugaru Fan Nebuta Village ticket. In the other area, you can enjoy meals and souvenir shops for free without purchasing a ticket. Among them, Tsugaru Yoneya is a snack shop that specializes in stove-cooked rice. Here you can enjoy Aomori's local cuisine and sell local souvenirs. The shop sells a variety of Japanese folk crafts, fruits and vegetables, rice and other fresh agricultural products from Aomori Prefecture.
