Itinerary: Day 1 : HOMETOWN THESSALONIKKI – Upon arrival at Thessaloniki Airport, meet & greet and depart for city sightseeing tour. – This city was the “co-reigning” city throughout the era of the Byzantine Empire, second in population and prestige only to Constantinople (Istanbul). Visit the “white tower” and pass by unique monuments such as St. Dimitrius Church, St. Sophia, the Rotonda, the Arch or Gallerius, the upper town & its castles. – Head for walking tour in old town and after dinner transfer to your hotel for overnight. Day 2 : KALAMBAKA - METEORA – After breakfast at hotel depart through the plain of Thessaly and the gigantic figure of Mount Olympos, the highest mountain in Greece and home of the 12 Gods of Mythology, to Kalambaka. – After lunch at local restaurant head to visit one of the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. – Continue for brief tour in Kalambaka and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 3 : KALAMBAKA - DELPHI - ATHENS – Enjoy your breakfast at hotel and check out. Depart to Delphi – located on the slopes of Mount Parnassos, once believed as the center the “Naval” of the Earth, is the home of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. – Visit the archaeological site with the temple of god and the museum hosting valuable pieces of Ancient Greek sculpture such as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. – Drive on to Athens for dinner at local restaurant and transfer to your hotel for overnight. Day 4 : ATHENS - MYKONOS – Early breakfast or breakfast box at hotel and check out; Transfer to port for fast ferry to Mykonos. – Upon arrival in Mykonos, transfer to hotel for check in. Take this opportunity to walk around the cosmopolitan Mykonos town – beloved by the international jet-setters. – Discover the narrow labyrinth streets with traditional shops, restaurants, chic boutiques, art galleries, café bars, Little Venice with famous windmills, white-washed cubic houses and a number of small chapels around nearly every corner. – Enjoy dinner at local restaurant and return to hotel for overnight. Day 5 : MYKONOS - SANTORINI – Breakfast at hotel and check out; Transfer to Mykonos port and take speed ferry to Santorini. – Upon arrival in Santorini, meet and transfer to your hotel for check in. – Enjoy your day at leisure on Santorini, known as the most romantic Island of the world. Day 6 : SANTORINI – Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and depart for a half day tour to see colourful beaches, traditional villages and head to Oia, the most photographed place in Greece, best known for its breath-taking sunsets. – Lunch at a local restaurant and return to the hotel for rest; afternoon free to explore Fira town with its narrow streets full of jewellery shops & galleries, café bars & restaurants – After dinner at a local restaurant, return to your hotel for overnight. Day 7 : SANTORINI - ATHENS – Breakfast at hotel and morning free to relax or tour on own. – Transfer for lunch at local restaurant and to port for Blue Star ferry to Athens (15.30-23:35hrs) with fast food meal on board. – Upon arrival direct transfer to your hotel in Athens for overnight. Day 8 : ATHENS HOMETOWN (B) – Breakfast at the hotel. – Start your sightseeing tour to see the highlights of the city passing by Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Parliament, the tomb of Unknown Soldier, University, Academy, National library, Hadrian’s Arch, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and have short photo stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. – On the Acropolis, visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the eternal “Parthenon” – “the harmony between Material & Spirit”. – Enjoy some free time in Plaka till transfer to Athens International Airport for your homebound.
