What to expect
Day 1 – Hike to Base Camp & Volcano Views
Your adventure begins with morning transportation from Antigua to the volcano village. After meeting your professional local guide, you’ll begin the ascent through scenic farmland, cloud forest, and volcanic landscapes.
Hiking time: approximately 4–6 hours (moderate to challenging)
Lunch provided during the hike
By afternoon, you’ll arrive at Base Camp, where you’ll stay overnight in comfortable and protected A-frame cabins.
From camp, enjoy front-row views of Fuego Volcano erupting (weather permitting). Watching lava explosions light up the night sky is an unforgettable highlight.
Hot dinner included
Hot beverages (coffee, tea, hot chocolate)
Sleeping bag, mattress, and pillow included.
Day 2 – Sunrise at the Summit
Wake up early for the optional sunrise hike to the summit of Acatenango (about 45–60 minutes). At 3,976 meters (13,044 ft), you’ll witness an incredible sunrise above the clouds with panoramic views of surrounding volcanoes.
After sunrise:
Breakfast at base camp
⬇️ Descent back to the village
Transportation back to Antigua (around 12:00–13:30 HRS)
