Day 1: Cusco - Km 82 - Ayapata
Your journey begins with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley, followed by a delicious breakfast in Ollantaytambo. From there, head to Km 82 to begin the hike, passing through charming villages and the ancient site of Patallacta, before arriving at Ayapata Campsite, where your tent and a well-earned rest await beneath the mountains.
Day 2: Dead Women´s Pass - Chaquicocha
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before tackling the most challenging part of the trail, hiking with your expert guide over Dead Woman’s and Runkuraqay Pass through mountain scenery and cloud forest. Visit the Inca ruins of Runkuraqay and Sayacmarca before arriving at Chaquicocha campsite for a comfortable dinner and a peaceful night of stargazing.
Day 3: Phuyupatamarca - Wiñaywayna
After a good night’s rest, enjoy a hiking through diverse ecosystems, spotting unique flora, fauna, and picturesque views. Explore the stunning Inca sites of Phuyupatamarca, Intipata, and Wiñaywayna. Back at camp, relax with lunch and end the day with a special farewell dinner.
Day 4: Sun Gate - Machu Picchu - Cusco
On the final day, rise before dawn to reach the Sun Gate, your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. Continue along Circuit 1’s upper path for unparalleled photo opportunities, then descend to the main entrance. Next, embark on a guided Circuit 3 tour to discover Machu Picchu’s most exclusive corners. Finally, board the Panoramic Vistadome train and enjoy a scenic journey back to Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel in the evening.
