What to expect
Your tour begins with transportation from Krakow to the Wieliczka Salt Mine Town. Pickup by vehicle from a pre-determined place (hotel or other place that you choose) at a specified date and time. Transport takes about 30 minutes.
As part of the visit, you will receive an individual entrance ticket to the salt mine and a professional yours language speaking guide. The guide is available in one of the selected languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian. Visiting the Salt Mine takes place in groups of up to 30 people.
The mine has 9 levels, underground. During the tour you will learn about the history of salt mining in particular historical periods. With a guide, you will visit a maze of corridors and a complex of thematic chambers where there are numerous sculptures, chapels carved into the rock and an underground lake. You will take a lot of amazing photos during the trip, so don't forget to charge your battery. You will feel the unique microclimate of the mine, which is ideal for people suffering from asthma and allergies, and feel the benefits for your health.
After completing the tour you will return with an elevator to the ground. After the sightseeing, you will back to the parking lot where your driver will be waiting for you. The driver will take you back to Krakow.
Terms & conditions
Wheelchairs and strollers are strictly prohibited in the salt mine due to the narrow corridors and stairs. The tour is not recommended for people suffering from claustrophobia to enter the salt mine.
There is a lot of walking during the tour therefore the tour is not recommended for people with reduced mobility and pregnant women.
The temperature in the Salt Mine is about 15 degrees Celsius. Remember to wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes.
The pick-up location for your tour depends on the option you choose. The day before the tour (in the afternoon around 3:00pm), you will receive the exact pickup time from the agreed location. Pick-ups take place daily between 9.00 and 11.00. In a situation where access by vehicle is prohibited or difficult, the nearest meeting point will be designated up to 5 minutes walk.
