What to expect
Discover the legacy of John Paul II, head of the Catholic Church from 1978 until his death in 2005, on a private tour from Krakow. Visit his family home in Wadowice, explore the John Paul II Center in Krakow, and stop at the famous Divine Mercy Sanctuary, closely connected with St. Faustina Kowalska.
Your experience begins with pickup directly from your hotel or apartment in Krakow (or the nearest accessible point if direct access is not possible). One day before the tour, you will receive your exact pickup time and meeting details.
The first highlight of the trip will be the Karol Wojtyła Family Home in Wadowice. Visit the museum with an audio guide and follow the story of John Paul II from his childhood to his papacy and canonization. Learn how he promoted faith, culture, education, and supported those in need. After the visit, take time to stroll around the town’s central square, see the church where he was baptized, or enjoy a coffee with the famous kremówka - the Pope’s favorite cream cake.
Next, head to the John Paul II Center in Krakow. Inside the main church, see the Pope’s original robe worn on the day of the assassination attempt in 1981, as well as his relics. Take time for reflection, prayer, or self-guided sightseeing in this spiritual place.
The final stop will be the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki. Explore the impressive church complex where John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis celebrated Mass and met with pilgrims during World Youth Day. Visit the preserved cell of Saint Faustina Kowalska, known worldwide for her visions of Jesus, and listen to an audio guide telling her remarkable story.
After completing the tour, your driver will comfortably bring you back to your hotel in Krakow.
