What to expect
Snow Travels offers a true Northern Lights chase with no limits on distance or time. Choose between our flexible 6–8 hour unlimited tour or a shorter 5 hour option.
Our minibus tours give us the flexibility to go farther than others, deep into Finland and remote areas most can’t reach. This significantly increases your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Our guides are fully committed to finding clear skies, supported by real-time satellite data, over 40 live cameras across key locations, and a dedicated operations team in Tromsø. Together, this ensures we always head to the best possible spot.
Meet your guide in Tromsø city center and be welcomed on board to our minibus. Then begin your breathtaking journey into the surrounding mountains, fjords, and valleys. Along the way, we make stops to take photos of the stunning scenery and unique nature, as well as to check if the Aurora Borealis can be seen.
Our guides know where to find the right locations to view the Northern Lights. Here, we set up a cozy camp where we put out chairs, light a bonfire, and serve hot drinks and snacks, and even grill hot dogs. Your guide is with you the whole time and gives you information about the mystery of the lights, along with many other stories. And don’t worry about the cold temperatures, insulated full-body suits are provided to keep you warm.
On an Aurora chase, patience meets excitement, and the lights tend to appear when you least expect them. When the Northern Lights appear, your guide helps you fully take in the moment while capturing professional photos and portraits of you under the Aurora—all included in your tour. Photos are shared with you the following day at no extra cost. You’re also free to use our tripods, and your guide is always there to help with camera settings, gear, or anything you need along the way.
Throughout the night, we continuously adjust our route to follow the clearest skies. Your safety, comfort, and overall experience are always our top priorities. This is an expert-led, well-organized Northern Lights chase where nature decides the show, but our experience ensures you have the best possible chance to witness it.
After the tour, your guide will take you directly to your hotel in the city center, except Moxy Hotel.
