Join an unforgettable whale watching safari from Andenes in Northern Norway. This 3–5 hour guided tour takes you through Arctic waters rich in marine life, where you’ll search for whales, orcas, dolphins, and seabirds with a team of marine experts. Each tour is guided by experienced local crew and marine biologists who provide engaging commentary throughout the journey.
The tour begins at Østre Havn in Andenes, where you’ll check in at our black container reception beside the red harbor buildings. After a warm welcome and safety briefing, you’ll board a comfortable, wildlife-friendly boat designed for optimal viewing and stability at sea.
As you head into the open ocean, the guides share insights about the marine ecosystem, whale behavior, and the importance of responsible wildlife tourism. Depending on recent sightings, the boat navigates toward the best-known areas for whale activity, which can vary daily based on whale movements and sea conditions.
During the tour, you’ll enjoy a light meal of hot soup, fresh bread, tea, coffee, and biscuits — all served onboard in a heated indoor cabin. Keep your eyes open for the mighty sperm whale, playful pods of orcas, and a variety of seabirds including puffins and sea eagles.
If no whales or dolphins are seen during your tour, you’ll receive a free rebooking under our Whale Pass policy (subject to availability). Tours typically return to the same harbor after 3 to 5 hours, depending on wildlife activity and sea conditions.

A minimum of 25 participants is required for the tour to depart.
Tour duration is approximately 3–5 hours and may vary depending on weather conditions and whale location.
The tour is weather-dependent and may be canceled on short notice for safety reasons. If Arctic Whale Tours cancels the tour for any reason, including weather, safety concerns, force majeure, or not meeting the minimum number of participants, customers will receive a full refund. Rescheduling may be offered when possible, but it is optional.
If itinerary changes are necessary and the customer does not accept the changes, the customer will receive a full refund.
Guests prone to seasickness are strongly advised to take preventive medication before departure.
Check-in is required 30 mins before departure.
Whale Pass: If the tour departs but no whales are seen, guests may rebook free of charge, subject to availability.
