When visiting Tromsø, venturing into the surrounding nature is an absolute must! Just a short drive away, Kvaløya offers a breathtaking mix of landscapes – endless mountains, pristine Arctic beaches and dramatic fjords.
As we journey through this wilderness, keep an eye out for native wildlife. Sea eagles gliding overhead or reindeer roaming the tundra. If we’re lucky, we might even catch a glimpse of the elusive moose. Along the way, we’ll make several scenic stops - perfect moments to soak in the nature and capture stunning photographs.
During the tour, we’ll pause for a homemade light picnic, complemented by a warm drink, before continuing through mountain valleys and charming fishing villages. Our adventure leads us around dramatic fjords - where mountains meet sea, and the vastness of the Arctic wilderness truly takes hold.
The Arctic is a land of seasons, each with its own unique charm and distinctive landscapes therefore this tour is year-round. In autumn, the colours are vivid and vibrant. Winter blankets the area in deep snow, casting a magical glow beneath the polar night. Our primary itinerary takes us towards Sommarøy, passing through Ersfjordbotn and Nordfjordbotn. However, our experienced guides continuously assess the conditions and, if necessary, may adjust the journey towards Grøtfjord to enhance the experience.
• The minimum age for joining this tour is 6 years old.
• Tour is approximately 4.5-5.5 hours.
• Please dress appropriately for Arctic weather. Good footwear is essential.
• Please keep in mind that bathroom access is limited. Guides will try there best to stop at facilities.
• A general fitness level is recommended to participate. There is minimal walking involved but please note, it can be rough terrain, deep snow, or slippery conditions.
• This tour will run in any weather; rain, wind, and snow are part of an authentic Norwegian experience, unless deemed unsafe in which you cann reschedule or receive a full refund.
