What to expect
Begin your private tour with a pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik. Head to Borgarnes, a small town in West Iceland, for a quick stop before continuing to Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring.
Next, visit Reykholt, a historic site known for its medieval geothermal pool, Snorralaug. Continue to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, where you’ll see waterfalls seeping from a 900-year-old lava field.
Then, head to Vidgelmir, Iceland’s largest lava cave. Enter the cave with a specialist guide and explore 1,500 meters of illuminated lava formations, including stalactites, lava pillars, and ice formations in winter.
After about an hour inside the cave, return to Reykjavik, where your tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.

Terms & conditions
The cave is approximately 4°C year-round. A warm layer (fleece or jacket) is essential even in summer.
Sturdy, closed-toe footwear is required for inside the cave. No open-toe shoes or heels.
Moderate fitness required — terrain inside Vidgelmir is uneven in places, but no climbing.
Not recommended for guests with severe claustrophobia.
Children are welcome. Assess young children's comfort in enclosed, dark spaces.
Dress in layers — Icelandic weather changes rapidly. Waterproof outer layers recommended for all outdoor stops.
Children 134 cm (4'5") or shorter are required by Icelandic law to use a booster seat. Please advise at booking.
