What to expect
Your day starts with pick-up at your hotel or guesthouse in the Reykjavik area at around 08:00. Drive through Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, and from there head to the fishing area where you'll gear up and get ready to fish for both brown trout and Arctic char. You will fish for a total of around 5-6 hours.
Anglers can choose whether they fish with spin or fly rods, but bait fishing is sometimes also possible. For those who would like to learn to fly fish, your guide is more than willing to teach you the right technique. Anglers are allowed to take up to 2 fish from the day with them, though catch and release is the standard practice.
After the day of fishing, drive back to Reykjavik with memories from a great day out.
