What to expect
Meet your guide at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and get ready for your snorkeling adventure. Put on your snorkeling gear and enter the Silfra Fissure, a narrow canyon in the lava field located between the continents of America and Europe.
Snorkel between the separating North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, a geological marvel only found in Silfra. Experience the clearest waters in the world, with visibility of up to 150 meters.
The glacial water originates from Langjökull (Long Glacier) and is naturally filtered through lava fields, resulting in some of the purest water on Earth. After your snorkeling experience, enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.

In order to participate, guests must:
Be able to swim and be comfortable in the water,
Be able to understand and communicate in English,
Have a moderate level of fitness,
Be within safety gear size parameters:
- Height: 150 cm-200 cm (4’11’’ - 6’7’’)
- Weight: 45-120 kg (99-265 lbs)
For your safety, we cannot accommodate guests with the following conditions:
Heart or blood vessel disease, stroke
Heart attack
Lung disease (excluding asthma with doctor clearance)
Recent surgeries (within the last 6 months)
Pregnancy
Pneumothorax (collapsed lung), other chest disease, chest surgery
Epilepsy, seizures, convulsions, or taking any related medication
Signed physician approval is required for asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, and other conditions that may impact your ability to safely participate.
