What to expect
This three-day winter tour takes you through some of Iceland’s most iconic landscapes, combining famous natural attractions with excellent chances to see the Northern Lights. Travel the Golden Circle to visit Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall, then continue along the South Coast to Reynisfjara Black Beach, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss and the spectacular Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
You will also visit Friðheimar Geothermal Farm, where tomatoes are grown year-round using sustainable energy. Two nights’ accommodation in the countryside are included, giving you a good spot for evening aurora viewing. Blue Lagoon admission is available as an optional extra, along with an optional blue ice cave experience on Vatnajökull Glacier.
Day 1: The Golden Circle
Begin your journey at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of great historical and geological significance. Continue to the Geysir hot spring area, home to the original geyser and the active Strokkur.
Next, visit Friðheimar Farm to see how tomatoes and other plants are grown year-round using sustainable energy. Then see Gullfoss, the majestic Golden Waterfall, famous for its beauty and powerful cascades.
Accommodation in the Vík area, with a possible Northern Lights hunt in the evening, weather permitting.
Day 2: White Glaciers, Black Sands & Tranquil Lagoons
Enjoy a scenic drive along the black volcanic sands beside Vatnajökull Glacier to the stunning Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
Nearby, visit Diamond Beach, where glittering icebergs rest on the black sand. You can also join a blue ice cave tour on Vatnajökull Glacier for an extra cost, while those not taking part will visit Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, known for its floating icebergs and glacier views.
On the return journey, travel through Vatnajökull National Park, home to Europe’s largest glacier, dramatic peaks, powerful waterfalls and landscapes shaped by ice and fire.
Day 3: Volcanos and Waterfalls and the Blue Lagoon
Today we travel back along Iceland’s south coast, with views of glaciers, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches and famous volcanoes. We stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach to see its striking rock formations and powerful waves.
Next, visit Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, where you can walk behind the cascade.
Before returning to Reykjavík, there is a stop at the Blue Lagoon, where you can relax in its mineral-rich waters if you choose to add bathing as an extra.
Terms & conditions
Pickup on day 1 is between 08:30 and 09:00, so please be ready at your pickup location from 08:30. The exact pickup location will be confirmed by the tour operator after you place your booking.
Please bring swimwear if you opt to book the tour with bathing fee at the Blue Lagoon.
Our tours are conducted in spacious, modern buses for your comfort. Unlike other operators in Iceland, we do not impose any restrictions on luggage sizes for our tours.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, subject to weather conditions, and therefore cannot be guaranteed on the tour.
Room Allocation: Guests booking for one person will be accommodated in a single room. Bookings for two people will be placed in a double room. Bookings for three people will be accommodated in a double room with an extra bed or a triple room, depending on availability.
