What to expect
Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik. Head to Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of the world’s oldest parliament. Walk through the Almannagjá tectonic rift, pass the site of the first parliament, Althing, and enjoy Öxaráfoss waterfall.
Next, visit the Geysir Geothermal Area, where you can witness the Strokkur geyser erupt every few minutes, shooting boiling water up to 30 meters into the air.
Continue to Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most famous and spectacular waterfalls. Admire the three-step waterfall that falls into a 64-meter-deep canyon.
Afterward, head to Kerið Crater, a volcanic caldera with vibrant red, russet, and deep brown slopes contrasting against the azure blue water at the bottom. Walk around the crater’s perimeter and marvel at the picturesque scenery from various viewpoints.
