Your journey begins in Skaftafell National Park, where you’ll meet your expert glacier guide. After a short introduction, you’ll be fitted with crampons and an ice axe, ensuring you’re fully prepared for the adventure ahead. Once everyone is ready, a short bus ride takes you to the glacier’s edge, where the real experience begins.
Stepping onto one of Vatnajökull’s stunning outlet glaciers, you’ll enter a frozen world shaped by time and powerful natural forces. Part of Europe’s largest ice cap, the glacier reveals a striking landscape of brilliant white, crystal-clear, and deep blue ice formations. As you explore, you’ll navigate crevasses, ice ridges, and ever-changing features that make every hike unique.
