The journey begins at the picturesque Skaftafell National Park, where our hut is located. Here, our expert guides will equip you with all the necessary glacier gear to ensure a safe and comfortable hike. Then, board our 4x4 bus and enjoy a scenic 15-minute drive to the edge of Falljökull Glacier, where the adventure truly begins.
Stepping onto the glacier, you’ll strap on your crampons and ascend the icy terrain, walking across an otherworldly landscape shaped by nature’s relentless forces. Your guide will show you how to safely walk on the ice and get comfortable with the glacier crampons. Admire the mesmerizing blue ice formations, safely navigate around deep crevasses, and learn fascinating insights about the glacier’s formation, movement, and the continuous transformation it. You will see the icefall that Falljökull (''Falling Glacier'') is named for.

• Sturdy hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory for this adventure.
• Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU.
•This tour is rated as easy, but guests should be prepared to walk about 3km (1.8 miles) total over uneven terrain.
