What to expect
Meet your guide at the Sólheimajökull Glacier Parking Lot, conveniently located just off of Iceland's ring road, near the town of Vik. Or, select departure from Reykjavík and let your driver do the driving. Sit back and take in the beautiful landscapes, with sightseeing stops at Skogafoss waterfall, Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and the famous Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach.
After meeting your expert guide at the glacier base, gear up with high-quality safety gear, including a harness, glacier crampons, and ice axe. Following a short, scenic walk to the ice's edge, step onto the glacier for an otherworldly hike.
Navigate easy ridges, peer into deep blue crevasses, and see the unique "moulins" (ice holes) that tunnel deep into the frozen heart of the glacier. Along the way, your guide will explain how the nearby volcanoes have shaped this landscape, coating the ice in dramatic layers of black ash.

The minimum age is 8 years old and minimum shoe size is 35 EU
Sturdy hiking shoes with ankle support are mandatory (available to rent for a small fee)
Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.
